I adventured out (and by adventure, I mean drove through the boring state of Kansas) to Kansas City, MO (glad this was on the Missouri side!) to shoot at the
House of Style KC Session 23 event. This was my first experience actually getting to travel somewhere for a shoot (not just the take my camera along with me
on vacation). Next time I will definitely have to bring a road trip buddy along to take part of the drive! Sleep is not overrated!
The thing I love about the House of Style shoots is that it really keeps my skills sharp and pushes me to just make magic happen. Basically, I have
about a 20-30 min time period with a model. During this time, I have to figure out the entire basis for what I want the shots to look like, where I want to
shoot it at, build enough rapport with the model to get comfortable with each other to produce quality shots and on top of that, adjust all of my light and
settings on the fly. It's all about sink or swim... No arm floaties here!
